ABOUT DCS

For over 30 years, the Durango Choral Society (DCS) has drawn singers from the Four Corners area interested in performing choral music. Our mission is to enhance the musical and cultural development of our community through the promotion and participation by the DCS members in musical programs for the benefit and enjoyment of the community.

Emphasis is placed on providing educational opportunities for both singing participants and audience members. Our three choruses–the 100-voice mixed choir, the Durango Children's Chorale and the 13 elite voices of the Durango Women's Choir–perform jointly and independently. Productions often include visiting musicians, dancers and actors. We take special pride in showcasing our extraordinary hometown talent.

The Durango Choral Society is a Colorado nonprofit corporation. It is operated exclusively for those educational and charitable purposes permissible under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our funding support comes from event proceeds, singer tutition, event sponsorships, sustaining memberships and donations received from other private and public funding sources.

We are grateful to our loyal donors, singers and other volunteers for their commitment to the DCS. We are always in need of extra help. If you are willing to assist with ticket sales, fund raising, publicity, wardrobe or any other business of the organization, please contact Linda Mack or any Board member.
