Rochelle Mann - Artistic Director of the Durango Children's Chorale
Rochelle Mann, Artistic Director of the Durango Children's Chorale , is a Professor of Music at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. She holds degrees in music education and flute performance from Indiana University and Arizona State University.
A strong advocate for quality music education at all levels, Dr. Mann is in demand internationally as a clinician and guest conductor. Specializing in the Kodály concept, she teaches and coordinates the Kodály Certification courses at Arizona State University. In addition, she is a program author for Silver Burdett Ginn/Scott Foresman's textbook series Making Music . Other publications include several works for children's voices and articles promoting innovative teaching techniques.
Dr. Mann is a concert flutist and frequent solo performer throughout the Southwest. Serving as Principal Flute with the San Juan Symphony, she has also performed with the Santa Fe Symphony, several regional symphonic orchestras and ensembles, and the Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestra. Solo and chamber concerts have taken her throughout the United States, Russia, Poland, Estonia, Austria, and France.
